Samsung Galaxy Prevail
Step 1. Firstly the galaxy Prevail will need to be put into download mode. If you don’t know how to do this follow these steps: While the device is turned off, press/hold the camera button, volume down button and power button simultaneously. You will know it has been successful or not by noting a “downloading” being put on the display.

Step 2. Connect the Galaxy Prevail to the PC using the USB cable that came with the device.

Step 3.  Download the SPHM820_FE16_ROOT_CWM.zip pre-rooted ROM and extract the FF19_ROOTED.zip file from the folder.

Step 4. After extracting the file in step 3 run the odin Multi_Downloader_v4.43.exe file also located inside.

Step 5. Load the files from the extracted folder onto ODIN. Making sure the COM port mapping is yellow. One Package box is left unchecked. Debug is left unchecked. 2 tar. files and 1 .OPS file are all on-screen before clicking start.

After clicking the start button your Samsung Galaxy Prevail running Gingerbread 2.3.6 will begin the rooting process. Wait until it has finished before touching anything. upon completion your Galaxy Prevail should be rooted.
